United Methodist Social Principle ¶162.V
Our historic challenge to ensure health care as a basic human right for all is far from over!
Purpose
The purpose of the John 10:10 Challenge is to build a faithful movement for health care justice by engaging a national network of John 10:10 teams to promote, preserve, and implement affordable health care for all people on local, state, and federal levels.
As we move through the regulatory and implementation phase, the John 10:10 Challenge will offer education, training, and action steps to empower local teams to promote and implement affordable health care in communities across the country
Vision
Jesus provided a promise of God’s grace for us all when he proclaimed we shall “have Life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10, NRSV) Accordingly, "we believe that health care is a basic human right."
In joining the John 10:10 Challenge, you add your voice to the call for a justice-filled system of health-care that is inclusive, available, accessible, and accountable.
Join the Challenge
We invite people of all faith to participate in the 10:10 Challenge. Start a team or invite others to join.
We hope the challenge will engage and empower you to mobilize your missions teams, UMW Circles, Congregational Health Ministries, Sunday School, or other groups of interested people to commit to being a part of ensuring affordable health care for all.
